Tradeline
A single account record on a credit report. Each credit card, loan, mortgage, or collection is its own tradeline.
A tradeline is a single account entry on a consumer's credit report. Each credit card, auto loan, mortgage, student loan, personal loan, collection account, and charge-off is its own tradeline. Tradelines include: creditor name, account number, open/closed status, balance, credit limit, payment history, and date of last activity.
The Metro 2 Format is the standardized data structure furnishers use to report tradelines. Each monthly update can change a tradeline's status code (current, 30-days-late, 60, 90, charge-off, etc.). Most tradeline reporting errors are Metro 2 coding errors.
